BRIEFING GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENTAL WATCHDOG

LET’S SANIFY founder and director Mahmudur Jaigirdar has been to London to meet with the Rt Hon Philip Dunne MP. Chairman of the Parliamentary Environmental Audit Committee.

The Committee’s remit is to consider the extent to which the policies and programmes of government departments and non-departmental public bodies contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development, and to audit their performance against sustainable development and environmental protection targets.

Mr Dunne (pictured) is also a former Minister for Defence Procurement and Minister of State at the Department for Health, where he was number two to Jeremy Hunt.

The committee chairman was briefed about Let’s Sanify and the history of HOCL. He was told about its environmental benefits, being completely non-hazardous, whilst at the same time effective against 99.9 per cent of bacteria and viruses, including Covid-19, E-COLI, MERS and SARS.

As chairman of the committee, Mr Dunne has considerable influence within Government. He was told of the rule that has no basis in science, that to be labelled a sanitiser, a product must contain 70 per cent alcohol.

‘Jag’ also told Mr Dunne that whilst the Government declared its commitment to protecting the environment this if often not reflected in the help that is available or public procurement policies.

Mr Dunne asked to be sent more information and expressed an interest in coming to visit the site in Tipton.
